Did Halle Berry Die In John Wick 3

One of the most exciting additions to the John Wick franchise was Halle Berry’s Sofia in last year’s hit film John Wick 3: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. The action series received some good news this week with Lionsgate’s announcement that a fourth and fifth installment will be shot back to back. We don’t know much about what’s next, including whether Berry will return, but she definitely showed she’s game for anything on the set of John Wick 3. Come on, she broke three ribs during rehearsals… she was all in.

Heidi Moneymaker is a prominent stunt performer who has worked alongside Brie Larson for Captain Marvel and Scarlett Johansson for Black Widow, to name a few. When she worked with Halle Berry for John Wick 3, she was especially impressed with how game Berry was. Moneymaker said the 53-year-old actress performed all the stunts except for a couple minor moments. In her words:

Wow! Thinking back to all of John Wick’s badass fight scenes, its seriously impressive Halle Berry did almost every stunt herself as the assassin. As Moneymaker told Looper, the only exceptions the production had to absolutely make was for two specific parts in the film. When Sofia slid under the table, there was a fear she might slice up her face. And the other one had to do with an especially aggressive dog the production had to place instead of the usual pup.

Heidi Moneymaker said there was worry the dog might get “freaked out” and bite Halle Berry, so she sat out that specific stunt. Other than that though, the stunt performer insisted the actress “did everything’ and was “incredible.” One crazy story Moneymaker brought up about Halle Berry’s commitment to stunt work was for the Boss Bitch Fight Challenge a ton of stars participated in.

During Halle Berry’s bit, she said yes to getting “horse poo” flung at her and being plunged into a pool for the awesome Instagram video with a ton of women doing stunt work, including Heidi Moneymaker. Check it out here:

Following her recent role in John Wick 3, Halle Berry has directed her first film called Bruised, in which she stars as an MMA fighter who attempts to restart her athletic career and regain custody of her son. She’s also going to be in Roland Emmerich’s next film Moonfall. Stay tuned here on CinemaBlend for more movie news.Up next:

John Wick: Chapter 3 (2019 Movie)

The McConaissance is over, so let the Halle Berrenaissance commence!

Halle Berry, 52, only appears in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum for three extended scenes, but its a 30-minute span that leaves you wanting more of her — and wanting more for her.

In the latest installment of the action franchise, which dethroned Avengers: Endgame to finish No. 1 at the box office, the Oscar-winner plays Sofia, the manager at the Moroccan Continental who owes John (Keanu Reeves) a favor and shares his affinity for dogs. After the old friends catch up, John, Sofia, and her pair of Belgian Malinois hounds go meet the powerful Barrada (Game of Thrones Jerome Flynn). But when the encounter turns bad and Barrada shoots one of Sofias dogs (dont worry, he had a bulletproof vest on), it leads to an epic 10-plus minute sequence of the two assassins and two dogs kicking ass and taking no names.

“She would have to do three hours of martial arts, two hours of guns, and then, because the dogs are so sensitive, Halle had to become a trainer for the animals,” director Chad Stahelski recently told EW. “So, she [spent] another three, four hours a day just hanging out with the dogs, and giving them commands, and telling them what to do. That is a massive time commitment for an actress of her caliber that could be making millions of dollars elsewhere on other jobs. She just wanted to blow up everything to make a statement, saying, Look at me, look what I can do, you know, pretty much, F— yall. [Laughs]”

And I give that same message to anyone who isnt ready for the Berrenaissance! Its been 17 years since Berry became the first African-American woman to win Best Actress at the Oscars (unfortunately, shes still the only one), and how have we rewarded her? One solid X-Men sequel, one not-so solid X-Men sequel, Razzie legend Catwoman, a CBS summer series, a cameo in a Kevin Hart stand-up special, and a small reprisal in another X-Men sequel. [Extreme Oliver Queen voice] “You have failed this beloved actress!”

But, the Berrenaissance movement has started, between her helping shepherd Boomerang to the small screen, popping up in Kingsman: The Golden Circle, coming close to stealing John Wick 3, and starring in and directing the upcoming mixed martial arts drama Bruised (can we please just keep letting Berry kick everyones asses?).

And yet, thats not enough, we need more. How about her own HBO limited series from Big Little Lies and Sharp Objects maestro Jean-Marc Vallée? Then sign her up for a Kill Bill-esque Sofia spin-off from Wick filmmaker Chad Stahelski or Atomic Blondes David Leitch, who co-directed the original Wick film with Stahelski. And lets throw in an adorable rom-com — Hitch 2 anyone? Get it done, Hollywood.

John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum is now in theaters.

Halle Berry is a badass, and weve seen her be a badass in many of her films. Shes more than capable of being an impressive action hero when given the chance, but it seems that not only is Halle Berry capable of playing a badass in the movies, shes legitimately one in real life. Her upcoming film Bruised, which she also directed, stars the actress as an MMA fighter and she does the fighting herself. The reason we know that is that she apparently broke her ribs while making the film, and then proceeded to keep making the movie rather than heal. And this wasnt even the first time she broke ribs on a movie as the same thing happened on the set of the last John Wick movie.

Wed previously heard that Halle Berry broke three ribs while rehearsing for her role in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. But while speaking with EW about her new movie she reveals that when she told director Chad Stahelski what happened, it brought the movie to a halt. As the director, Berry was particularly aware of what a shutdown like that would cost her new movie, so she decided to simply work through the pain. According to Berry…

It doesnt sound like Halle Berry had to deal with any long term consequences from working through the injury rather than resting. It surely made the shoot less than comfortable, but now that filming is over and the movie is nearing release, it will hit Netflix in November, shes probably feeling little pain.Up next:

On the one hand, its understandable why Halle Berry, as a director, would want to push through. At the same time, Halle Berry the actress had to be in pain. It would be one thing if the break, which broke two different ribs than the ones that were broken the first time around, happened near the end of production and she simply needed to push through for a few days. However, the injury was sustained on literally the first day of filming.
