There are intelligent dog breeds, some dumb ( or should we say “less intelligent”) dogs, and breeds that might be banned where you live, whether or not it’s fair to single them out. No matter what, though, people love and defend their dogs. As the old saying goes, dogs are a (hu)man’s best friend. These stores that let you bring your dog shopping are friendly to dogs and their human companions. Are Dogs Allowed In Petco? What You Should Know Before You Go With Fido?

Petco is extremely dog-friendly. No doubt about that. But, one of the most important things to concern yourself about before leaving is your dog’s temperament.

Some animals don’t do well with crowds. And if you think Fido’s going to act nervous or cause mayhem, then you might want to rethink taking him along.

Dogs that show aggression or endanger the safety of other animals and customers will be turned away with their owners.

When can I bring my dog to Petco Park?While dogs are not allowed at the games as a rule, there are three exciting exceptions:

  • Bark At The Park – April 18, 2022 vs Cincinnati Reds
  • Dog Days of Summer – a promotional day when a limited number of dogs are permitted in the stands in certain sections of the ballpark.
  • Barkyard pet-friendly suites, yes you read that right, pet friendly suites.

    • We all like to take our dogs with use on outings, but it can be confusing trying to figure out where they are welcome. Beware of “dog friendly” lists online. While doing research, I found many companies that other sites claim are dog friendly, are not! For example, one site even claimed Bed, Bath, & Beyond had special dog shopping carts. I contacted the company and they had no idea what I was talking about regarding the carts, and said they only allow service animals.

    Macy’s has a long history of being involved with pets. From donating window space at their San Francisco store to the local SPCA to their Petacular and Barkfast event held in NYC, they love pets. I took my puppy to Macy’s in Fashion Island, Newport Beach, CA and was shocked at how dog savvy the manager was – he asked if he was friendly and then crouched low and to the side of my dog to greet him.

    Can you bring your dog to Petco Park?

    The Barkyard consists of five semi-private seating options in the left-center field of Petco Park. It’s a dog-friendly option that seats four people and two pups. More information on the Barkyard can be found here.

    Can you hold the animals at Petco?

    Yes. Any domesticated, licensed, vaccinated companion animals are welcome to accompany you to your visit to Petco. All visiting pets are required to be appropriately restrained (leash, carrier, travel habitat).

    Can I take my dog in Walmart in a stroller?

    Walmart welcomes service animals as defined by the ADA in our stores, and we recognize the important role they play in many of our customers’ lives. We do not allow pets in our stores.
