What is the largest white dog? A Complete Guide

How To Get White Dogs Clean?

A clean white coat sparkles, but white coats also loudly broadcast the presence of stains that would usually go unnoticed on a darker coat. Once these stains set in, they can become surprisingly difficult to remove. So, how do you keep your dog’s white coat clean?

Based on my research, the dog whitening shampoo recommended the most often were the Chris Christensen White on White Whitening Treatment Shampoo and the Super White Pet Shampoo by Bio-Groom.

Always avoid shampoo near the eyes of your dog – even “tearless” dog shampoos. If you have a Standard Poodle where their tears stain their fur, buy separate tear stain wipes or remover.

For those of you who don’t trust dog whitening shampoos not to contain any excessively harmful chemicals, you can try making your own!

Here are the ingredients that you need to make your very own dog whitening shampoo:

  • A bottle
  • For a scented shampoo, use scented dish soap, like Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day Liquid Dish Soap
  • Apple cider vinegar
  • Water
  • Liquid glycerin
  • Liquid bluing.
  • Now that you have all the ingredients, these are the steps to make the shampoo:

  • Add ½ cup dish soap to the empty bottle.
  • Add ½ cup apple cider vinegar to the bottle.
  • Pour ½ cup water to make the solution less viscous and easier to apply.
  • Add two tablespoons of liquid glycerin and liquid bluing.
  • Cap the bottle and shake it vigorously to mix everything well.
  • Your shampoo is now ready for use!

How to remove brown stains from white dog fur

Removing brown stains from your dog’s fur requires you to determine the severity of these stains. If they’re just general dirt stains, it’s nothing that a little water and whitening shampoo won’t fix.

If these brown stains are around your dog’s eyes and mouth, they could be from a yeast infection. This is especially true if the stains have an odor coming from them. Begin with a vet checkup to determine if there is anything seriously wrong with your dog or not. Otherwise, you can try using a peroxide and cornstarch mixture, being very careful not to get any in the eye.
