Step 3: Go to the Top
When trimming the top of your dog’s head, ensure you are cutting in a straight line from the highest point of the skull to where their muzzle begins. This will leave the hair on the skull short while allowing the hair at the top of the head longer.
Step 2: Trim the Face
Trim the hair on either side of the face, from the front of the ear to roughly halfway between the eye. Maintain short hair on the cheeks.
Wheaten Terrier – a Brief History
The Wheaten Terrier dog breed originated in Ireland. The Irish Kennel Club recognized these fine dogs in 1937 and brought them to America in the 1940s. The American Kennel Club recognized it as a breed in 1973.
These dogs are brilliant, friendly, and loyal to their families. However, they will often suffer from separation anxiety if left alone for too long.
The Wheaten Terrier has a single-layer coat that is very soft, wavy, or straight. There are several soft-coated Wheaten Terrier puppy cut styles you can try out to make your Wheaten look its best.
