Dogs and their owners have a special bond, but can your dog tell if youre cheating on your partner?
A dog behaviorist claims that your pup may be able to tell if youre having an affair simply by clocking changes in your body language.
“The fact that Jess is the main carer is significant as a change in routine will unsettle a dog,” Webb explained. “This combined with the ‘scent’ of the new person imprinted on her clothes, etc., will be signaling to the Cocker that this scent is the reason for the change in the dog ’s routine … Plus, there’s the pack element to consider, dogs are social pack animals and stick together.”
“Since I’ve started seeing my new lover — who he’s never met — his behavior has changed and I’m petrified my husbands going to notice,” Jess said, according to the British tabloid.
“Your dog certainly knows where you have been. Their sense of smell is their superpower! When a new scent is sniffed, they will remember it, especially when its correlated with the owners mood. Does this scent mean my human is happy, sad, stressed out or anxious?” Webb shared, according to The Mirror.
According to an animal behaviourist, dogs are definitely smart enough to be able to tell when youre straying away from home.
“But make no mistake that all dogs have the power to be detectives on your antics!”
“Others, like the comedians, Frenchies, Bull terriers might display their annoyance at having been left out of the party by shredding your slippers..
Of course certain breeds are particularly know for their ability with their noses – Labradors, retrievers, spaniels are hunting dogs designed to sniff for a purpose.
Its already pretty clear that dogs are incredibly smart animals that can sniff out drugs at airports and help find missing people.
Researchers from Kyoto University tested 18 canines in three scenarios, allowing the animals to watch as each owner asked a stranger for help opening a box. In the first scenario, strangers refused to aid the owner. In the second, strangers came to the owners rescue. And in the third, strangers remained neutral, neither helping nor refusing aid.
Afterward, the strangers approached the dogs with treats, and the researchers watched as the animals refused to take food from the strangers who had snubbed their owners. They happily lapped up treats from the helpful and neutral parties, however. Have you ever noticed that your dog just doesnt want anything to do with a new guy youre dating? Well, it could be that hes deliberately ignoring Mr. Wrong to show his disdain for how he treats you.
Forget turning to your best friends when youre unsure about the new guy youre dating—the best judge of his character could actually be your dog. A new Japanese study shows that dogs can sense when humans mistreat their masters.
“We discovered for the first time that dogs make social and emotional evaluations of people regardless of their direct interest,” said Kazuo Fujita, the lead researcher. Additional study details are forthcoming in the latest issue of Animal Behaviour, set to publish at the end of the month. But for now, know this: You can trust your faithful poochs instincts as much as your own.
