What are Chuckit balls made of?

Chuckit! ® Tennis Balls are made of high-quality materials and specifically designed for the game of fetch. Constructed of natural rubber it features an extra-thick rubber core and durable material that floats in water.

Why are tennis balls bad for dogs to use?

Is Chuck it bad for dogs?

One of the main concerns with Tennis balls is the rough abrasive texture of the ball.

Although the outside may feel somewhat soft to you, there can be major damaging effects to your pet’s gums and teeth from it. The texture along with any dirt and sand that get stuck in the ball are essentially sanding your dog’s teeth down leading to dental issues if left untreated.

If you have super chewers like I do, Tennis balls last less than 1 play session as they crack in half and go into small pieces. They can lead to a major choking hazard and the ingestion of harmful (and usually unknown) chemicals.

Sooo if tennis balls are bad for dogs…WHAT SHOULD I USE INSTEAD?

CHUCK IT! These balls are extremely durable and long-lasting. They will not break the bank either!

ChuckIt! offers them in numerous different sizes available for any size dog that you have! ChuckIt! also offers plastic throwers that allow you to throw the ball much farther than normal, with less strain on your arm, and the best part of the thrower is you no longer have to touch the slobbery ball with your hand! (More on that below!)

I give the ChuckIt! Ultra Rubber ball a 5 out of 5-star review due to the cost, the durability, and the ease of cleaning.

I use the medium size balls as they are a good size for all three of my dogs to use. Chewy currently has 2 medium balls for under $5. That is a steal for quality dog toys! I estimate each ball lasts me about a month of constant play.

When the Chuckit! balls are available, my dogs are constantly chasing them or have them in their mouth chomping on them. They eventually crack, which allows water and pieces to be ripped off, but last far longer than any other toy I have used. The best part is anytime they get dirty, all you need to go is give them a rinse and almost all of the debris comes off!

The thrower is hard plastic and securely fits the sized ball in it, but allows you to control the release getting maximum distance on your throws without throwing out your shoulder.

The extra length on the handle allows you to avoid bending down to pick up the slobbery, dirty ball with your hand every time. I have had my thrower for about two years now, and it had some nicks and dings in it, but still throws like new. The plastic has not warped or bent in any way.

It is a must have for all dog owners!
