Signs Your Dog Senses Negative Energy
If your dog senses negative energy, it will generally react and behave accordingly. There are a number of key signs that your dog may display when it senses negative energy. This can depend on the nature and personality of the dog amongst other things. Some will display signs that are of a more nervous or even fearful nature while others will be more aggressive as a result of the negative energy they sense. We know that dogs are very good at sensing good and bad, and they can often tell immediately if a person has good or bad intentions just from things such as their body language and tone of voice.
Some dogs may show signs such as tail tucking, hiding, whining, and backing away from a person if they sense any negative energy around them. With other dogs, signs may include raised hackles, growling, snapping, exposed teeth, and circling. All of these signs can indicate that your dog is sensing some sort of negative energy, which is why they are all negative signs. You won’t find dogs jumping up happily or wagging their tail if they sense negative energy from a person or in the environment they are in.
As you can see, the signs that dogs display when they sense negative energy can vary based on the personality and nature of the dog. The same goes when it comes to the body language that our four-legged friends display when they sense this type of energy. Some dogs may back away from the person or situation, pace, become submissive, tail tuck, and even tremble and whimper. More confident dogs may show more aggressive body language such as edging toward the person, holding their head low as though to attack, intently staring, and raising the hair on their back.
There are various other signs to look out for when it comes to your dog sensing negative energy. Some of these include reluctance to go near a certain person or into a particular situation. Some dogs may also stick close to their owners when sensing this type of negativity.
Pets make great company to so many. Even when people can barely afford to cover their basic needs, they have a beloved pet that they make sure is taken care of as well. That pet means the world to them and may be the only true friend that they have in life.
People who suffer from severe mental health issues such as depression may also seek their own type of home treatment from the support of a pet or two (or more in some instances!). Pets provide unconditional love and acceptance to these folks. Nothing is demanded or needed from their pets when the people have nothing of their self to give.
Emotional support animals make great companions for their owners and help them face each day within their homes.
Psychiatric service dogs help many people manage their anxiety or PTSD or other issues that affect their daily lives.
Pets are also used as service dogs, psychiatric dogs or therapy animals. They bring comfort and joy to our lives in so many ways. Service dogs are life savers for people who have disabilities or illnesses that these dogs are specifically trained to detect or assist with
So … need to yell at your spouse? Remember, a pet’s sense of hearing is incredibly acute, so if you must holler, go out and sit in the car with the windows rolled up, then you can really let it out! Kids getting into fights? Tell them to take it outside! And whenever you get the opportunity, take a few minutes to sit down and snuggle with your furry friends; that brings everybody’s blood pressure down.
Gemini is very shy at first but once he gets to know you he is very sweet, happy and friendly. He knows sit and paw and may possibly be housebroken.
Oh Gigi. She would be an awesome quarantine buddy but she keeps getting overlooked. Give a girl a chance. You won’t be sorry.
Animals are sensitive and may react in different ways to negative stimuli. It’s important to be aware of how much your pet is exposed to any upset happening in your household. Cats for example, will normally find a good hiding place away from the fray, but that doesn’t mean they’re not affected. Dogs on the other hand, tend to become clingy and protective under these circumstances.
When the “Stay at Home” orders were first imposed, I was delighted to see the number of people out walking their dogs; I’m even happier to see that, at least in my neighborhood, I’m still seeing them walking six weeks later. No doubt most pets are enjoying having all this extra time with their humans. On the flip side of that, I want to take this opportunity to remind everyone that pets are very in tune with our emotions and as our frustrations with the confinement grow, that negative energy can affect your cats and dogs.

Dogs live in the world of positive and negative energy. We as their owners, impact them 24/7. When we are happy, they love all over us. When we are sad, they are there by our side. When we are angry, they walk away from us.
As a dog trainer and life coach, I have noticed that the dogs also take on our issues. What do I mean by that? A couple one day, I worked with, whose lab was cautious around people but loved dogs. The owner had taken her to work with him for months as a puppy and noticed that it took her weeks to warm up to his work colleagues. I asked him, how are you with people, he replied, cautious. He had been training his dog through his own issues of trusting people.
Separation Anxiety is very common in dogs. Working with a client whose dog suffered with this, she realized as we kept talking, that she still had an issue with being a child and her parents leaving her. Now her dog was mirroring this issue.
Another lady whose dog would snap in fear if she was feeling trapped. Yes, you guessed it, she herself feels trapped with certain people and situations in her life and she snaps at people when she feels this way.
Remember where you put your negative energy, is where the dog is going to mirror. I had a client, whose dog would pee in her husband’s office, chew on his chair. She could not understand why. After working with her for about an hour, I asked her, how is your relationship with your husband. She replies, I want a divorce. So the dog is being negative with anything her husband has, because she is.
Dogs come into our life to heal us of what we are not willing to heal ourselves of. Quote by Kevin Behan, author of the book, Your Dog Is Your Mirror.
I hear people saying, the dog chose me. I said this, with Pebbles my Pitbull. I was volunteering at the shelter and busy walking dogs. Twice I walked past the kennel where she was and she was sitting so square, just looking at me, every time I went past. It prompted me to take her out and I knew I needed to adopt her. She was 7 months old with bad kennel cough. She joined my pack of 3 dogs and little did I know she was going to mirror my fear of trust with myself and others around me. She was with me for 6 years and suddenly 3 weeks ago, became ill and in 24 hours, had passed away. She is my angel on letting me see how to trust and for this, my life is so richer.
Do you have a dog, who is mirroring you? Release them and yourself by letting go of the issue. We can make more impact on the health and wellbeing of our dog, than we realize.
