Duane “Dog” Chapmans 35-year-old daughter secretly married Leiana Evensen in Hawaii earlier this month. The two brides were joined by seven close family members, but not the Dog the Bounty Hunter star.
At her @MsLyssaC Instagram page, Chapman (now Lyssa Chapman Evensen) shared photos from the ceremony, as well as video of their first kiss as wife and wife, and the celebration that followed. By all descriptions, it was a low-key affair.
“With our feet in the water, we connected ourselves to the power and vastness of the ocean,” Lyssa writes.” We were hugged by the majestic Ko’olau mountain range, that will continue hugging us as we live and spend the rest of our lives together at Makaalamihi.”
“It was literally a dream day,” she adds. “The best part is @leiana13 is my freaking WIFE !! I’m so happy, blessed, filled with love and gratitude. I never thought I was worthy or capable of this kind of love. The vibration I feel in my body hasn’t stopped since I met her and if you’re reading this from a dark place know that your happy beginning is out there somewhere too.”
Lyssa is Dogs daughter with his third wife, to whom he was married from 1982 to 1991. People shares that Lyssas two daughters joined the wedding party, as did her new in-laws. Dog was not able to come, but not because he didnt care or because he objected.
Father and daughter were on the phone via FaceTime with each other all morning, Lyssa shares, and his energy was present throughout the day.
“Its really, really hard for him to come back to Hawaii,” she tells People, making reference to the death of his wife Beth in June 2019. The couple lived in Hawaii for their entire marriage, and since then, he has moved permanently to Colorado and lives with his wife Francie Frane.
Lyssa Chapmans wedding took place on June 3, but photos and accounts of it didnt appear until June 7. Duane Chapman hasnt mentioned it on his social media pages, but his daughter assures fans that hes never been anything but supportive of her relationship with her new bride. Last fall, he was accused by daughter Bonnie of making homophobic remarks.
Evensen shared a similar batch of photos on her Instagram page, with more detail and her own personal message for her new wife.
Dog the Bounty Hunter and Francie Frane are officially husband and wife.
Dog and his fiancée married Thursday evening in an “emotional and intimate” ceremony in Colorado Springs surrounded by close friends and family amid ongoing drama with his daughter Bonnie.
“We appreciate the support and well-wishes as we begin our life together,” Dog told Page Six in a statement on Friday.
The former A&E reality star was previously married to Beth Chapman for 13 years up until her death in June 2019 at age 51 after a lengthy battle with throat cancer.
Frane’s husband also passed away after a cancer battle just six months before Beth.
The newlyweds got engaged in May 2020 — just 10 months after Beth’s death and a failed proposal to now-ex Moon Angell. Dog popped the question at their Colorado home.
“I wasn’t expecting it at all,” Frane told The Sun of the proposal. “I think I had gone to pick up some food and then when I came back, he had all the lights turned down with just a few lights on and a bunch of candles lit.”
“So when I came in I was like, ‘Wow, this is awesome.’ Then he said, ‘Come in, sit down because I need to talk to you.’ So I put all the food in the kitchen and I came in and he said, ‘I know that God brought you into my life and I don’t want to spend one moment of it without you.’”
Despite the happy news, Dog is still in a very public feud with Bonnie, who believes her father is homophobic and racist. The couple got engaged 10 months after Dog’s late wife Beth died.
“I have expressed time and time again my ever-growing disappointment in my father’s progression into his old racist ways,” Bonnie shared in a post. “I had forgiven my father after my mother’s death for countless actions that I shouldn’t have.”
Dog, however, has maintained that he’s not racist and claimed he was given a “pass” by his black “brothers” in prison to say the N-word.
“I thought I had a pass in the black tribe to use it, kind of like Eminem,” he said in an interview published this week.

Dog and Francie got engaged back in May 2020.
Speaking previously about their engagement, Fancie told The Sun: ‘Wow, this is awesome.
“Then he said, ‘Come in, sit down because I need to talk to you. I know that God brought you into my life, and I don’t want to spend one moment of it without you. ‘He said, ‘Will you marry me and spend the rest of our lives together?’ Who can say no to that? It was wonderful.”
The happy couple then wed on September 3, 2021.
But Dog has previously said that while there’ll “never be another Mrs Dog” referring to late wife Beth, who sadly died from cancer in 2019, he wants Francie to become “the last Mrs Chapman.”
Beth passed away following an 18-month fight with throat and lung cancer.
