He is V’s best friend and together they have had great moments. BTS has forged a great friendship with each other over the years, but V has someone very special: Yeontan.

We know that the dog is man’s best friend and they have both shown to have a very special bond, even though V sometimes has to leave him when he is on tour. We tell you the story of Taehyung next to his adorable puppy.

It was in 2017 when V unveiled their pet at ARMY, the boys made a broadcast on VLive to celebrate Jin’s birthday, and the idol decided to bring in a very special guest: Yeontan.

ARMY was surprised to meet him, as he did not know when he obtained it, what it was called and how much time he had with it. Since then it has become the official mascot of the group

Yeontan was first shown on December 4, 2017, in Jin’s birthday V LIVE. He is a male dog that used to live with BTS; however, due to their busy schedule, V was not always able to take care of him, so he currently lives with V’s parents. Yeontan is an adorable and small dog and is very close to all the members.

Why did V name his dog Yeontan?

Why Yeontan? Its name seems to stem from a charcoal block that is used in South Korea to heat houses , V chose it because of Yeontan’s black fur, although there were also theories about a Bangtan combination.

BTS aka Bangtan Sonyeodan has taken over Twitter by storm with their latest interviews. Each one had a separate interview with GQ Korea. The Bangtan Boys poured their hearts out and BTS V aka Kim Taehyung is one of them. He opened up on Yeontan, his pet pooch and turned emotional while talking about him. Yeontan is a pomeranian who is suffering from some health condition. BTS V adopted Yeontan despite knowing of his health condition. While talking about Yeontan, Taehyung revealed his health condition and has thanked him for staying alive and enduring so much pain. The My Universe and Butter hitmaker knew about Yeontans condition, and he adopted him anyway. Tae first introduced Yeontan in 2017. Yeontan used to live with Taehyung at first but due to BTS hectic schedules, V sent Tannie to live with his (Taehyungs) parents. All the boys, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin and Jungkook all dote on Yeotan a lot.

V revealed that Tannies air pipe is small and hence he cannot breathe properly. He added that even short runs make him faint. “His (Yeotan) airway is small, so he can’t breathe properly. Just running for a little bit makes him faint. So, he got two surgeries this year, but they both failed. What is Yeontan sickness?

Kim Yeontan was born on September 7, 2017 (age 4 years; as of 2021). He is a teacup pomeranian. Kim Tae-hyung adopted him after his birth.

“Yeontan has been doing so well. Although he has not been healthy since he was born,” he added, “he can’t breathe properly because he has a small respiratory tract. He faints after running for a little while. This year, he underwent surgery twice and both have failed.
