What should I feed my dog after vomiting?
If your dog is vomiting, its important to withhold food for at least 12 hours. This gives their stomach time to rest and recover. Once the vomiting has stopped, you can slowly reintroduce food by offering small amounts of a bland diet every few hours. A bland diet consists of boiled rice or pasta mixed with boiled chicken or turkey.
Once your dog is tolerating the bland diet, you can start to mix in their regular food. If your dog continues to vomit or has diarrhea, please see your veterinarian.
When should I take my dog to the vet?
