What is the family set up in waffle the dog?
Waffle is a talking dog (a red miniature poodle), who is adopted by the Brooklyn-Bell blended family after they find him in their house.
What happened to waffle the dog?
The owner of missing dog Waffle has admitted she still feels insecure when leaving the house alone. Catherine Hussain was left traumatised last month, after her six-month-old labradoodle was stolen at knifepoint while they walked in the Belmont Road area of St Austell, at about 7am on December 23.
Evie the daughter has a dad in America and a maternal grandfather. They refer to Evie’s dad as her “birth dad”, like she is adopted, but then Doug’s dad only marries Jess in the first episode, and no adoption is mentioned. … Evie’s never met her dad.
Whadia “Mo” Samuels and her 15-year-old daughter Wafeeqah “Waffles” became an overnight sensation.
The question you have all been asking is what breed is Waffle? The answer is a Red Miniature Poodle.
Waffle The Wonder Dog isn’t like any kids programme that has been before. It’s a pioneering new comedy drama series for children aged 4 – 7 and their families. When the Brooklyn-Bells start living together as a newly blended family, they don’t expect to take on a pet too – until that is, they find an adorable, little, lost puppy hiding in their house… Watch as Waffle woofs and wags his way into the family’s hearts with comedy, chaos and huge slobbery doggy kisses of cuteness.
I don’t want to give too much away but there will be 30 episodes of heart-warming stories, underpinned by real-life and because Waffle is no ordinary pup, he has many a surprising twist in his tail. A comedy with a cute dog in, what’s not to love? And for the cat lovers out there you won’t miss out either!
It was interesting seeing behind the scenes of the filming and just how long it can take to shoot one scene. I also got to meet the cast and ask them a couple of questions.
Simon has a little boy at home and says it helps to bring some realism to filming and dealing with kids behind the scenes.
Waffle the Wonder Dog Top 5 | Family Moments | CBeebies
Finding a kids programme that you actually like watching has got to be up there on the Parent score list hasn’t it? Well, parents of the UK can rejoice, as CBeebies has a new programme on the horizon that I know you are all going to love. How do I know this? Because a while ago I was sent on a top secret project to see behind the scenes of the film set, speak to the director and meet the cast of Waffle The Wonder Dog.

Some of the things I love about this programme are that is that it is based on a blended family. Being part of one ourselves it’s nice to see them being represented in mainstream media for kids. The idea that children as young as 4 understand comedy and not only that, can follow a narrative on a journey throughout the programmes. And that the fact that Waffle The Wonder Dog is created for children and their families to watch and enjoy together.

The set was pretty amazing, especially the attention to detail. The toys lying around and the photographs made it look and feel like a real house.

That the best thing about filming is the free food and they get to have fun all day. Although Doug didn’t like filming a particular scene where Simon (his Dad) splashes him with a bucket of cold paint, but Simon said that was his favourite scene.
Doug has an older sister who is also on TV and a younger brother and Evie is one of 7!
Simon has a little boy at home and says it helps to bring some realism to filming and dealing with kids behind the scenes.
Jess says it’s said never to work with animals or children but she disagrees and says together it’s a great mix and has made it more fun. Although Simon says you definitely couldn’t do it if you didn’t like dogs, or children.
There were a variety of dogs used to film Waffle and Bella the smallest is everyones firm favourite!
Waffle The Wonder Dog will be airing tonight – Monday 26th January at 5:20 – I can’t wait to watch it as a family.
