The hunt for gold is as competitive as ever, and in order to rise to the top, every miner needs an edge. With his sights set on his next mining season, Parker and his crew head deep into the New Zealand wilderness to explore and meet the experts who can take Parker’s mining operation to the next level.

After an epic $15 million Yukon season, Parker is doubling down with a nearly $200,000 investment of his own gold on a Fairbanks property in his home state of Alaska. He suspects there is a huge profit to be made on the ground, but he’ll need to find the proper equipment to process the clay-rich ground before he can obtain any of it. It’s a state-of-the-art wash plant that he’s in need of… and he’s going to travel around the globe to find it.

New Zealand is home to some of the most innovative miners, and Parker is determined to learn all he can from the secretive Kiwi mining communities who aren’t so quick to lend a helping hand to a fellow competitor.

Never one to back down from a challenge, Parker also sets out to scale Franz Josef Glacier, find the source of New Zealand’s famous West Coast Gold, and jet down the Kokatahi River. However, Parker’s biggest test of all will be facing his fears with a gold prospecting dive with sharks.

One of Gold Rush’s biggest stars—Parker Schnabel—is slowly disappearing from the show. And we recently learned why.

Parker Schnabel didn’t say if he’ll continue to phase out of Gold Rush in the future, or if we’ll see him more regularly once his business reaches peak size.

Over the past few years, rumors have started to circulate about Schnabel buying an Alaskan mansion for nearly $1 million. But true fans weren’t so quick to believe that he would drop so much money on a fancy home. So one person decided to simply ask Schnabel if the rumors were true.

Schnabel has been a constant on the Discovery Channel reality series since 2011. But this season his screen time has been dwindling, and it hasn’t gone unnoticed.

Fan’s have been taking to the internet looking for clues as to why the mine boss is distancing himself from the show that made him famous. And some people have even gone straight to the source to find answers.
